Believe it or not, it’s been 7 years since we saw the last episode of The Office. The show’s cast was so good that we couldn’t help but cringe, laugh, and cry along with them and that is why it won 29 awards over the course of 9 seasons. Each and every one of the characters felt like our own co-workers, which is why we can’t help but wonder how they’re doing these days.

We at Bright Side checked on our favorite actors from the legendary sitcom to see how life is treating them today.

1. Steve Carell (Michael Scott)

After leaving the show in 2011, Steve Carell went on to have a smashingly successful career in Hollywood. He even received an Oscar nomination for his performance in Foxcatcher (2014) and is a permanent member of Despicable Me franchise. Most recently, Steve focused on dramatic roles in films like Beautiful Boy (2018) and Vice (2018), as well as the TV series The Morning Show, alongside Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston.

2. Mindy Kaling (Kelly Kapoor)

As one of the original writers of The Office, Kaling created her own show The Mindy Project, that aired for 6 seasons, and starred Mindy as the main character. She’s also published 2 best-selling memoirs that gained massive acclaim for their humor and relatability. Kaling recently reunited with Steve Carell for The Morning Show and enjoys a successful movie career. Mindy can be seen in the films A Wrinkle in Time (2018) and Ocean’s 8 (2018) among many others.

3. Rainn Wilson (Dwight Schrute)

After concluding his work on the show, Rainn Wilson focused mostly on vocal acting, but can be also occasionally seen on the big screen. His recent films include The Meg (2018) and Blackbird (2019). Rainn also published a comedic memoir about his life and career titled The Bassoon King.

4. Jenna Fisher (Pam Beesly)

Lovable Jenna Fischer has been relatively low-key since The Office wrapped. She sometimes pops up in episodic roles in various television shows and recently appeared in the sitcom Splitting Up Together, that aired for one season. Jenna is currently hosting a funny podcast called Office Ladies with Angela Kinsey, who played the cat-loving accountant, Angela, in The Office.

5. John Krasinski (Jim Halpert)

Dreamy Krasinski has blossomed since his role as the goofy guy, Jim. He’s been focusing on writing, directing, and producing. His most notable work so far is the hit horror film A Quiet Place, which he directed and starred in alongside his real-life wife, Emily Blunt. The movie’s sequel is set to release in 2020. John has also had great success with the spy series Jack Ryan that is currently on its third season.

6. B.J. Novak (Ryan Howard)

Similarly to Mindy Kaling, his girlfriend on the show and his bestie behind-the-scenes, Novak continued his career, appearing in various movies, TV shows, and he also wrote 2 books. Currently, B.J. is set to appear in the upcoming film Vengeance, which he will also write and direct.

7. Phyllis Smith (Phyllis Vance)

Phyllis can thank her distinct voice and seemingly quiet nature for landing a role in Pixar’s animated hit film Inside Out (2015) after the show ended in 2013. She later appeared on the mystery TV series The OA, which concluded its second and final season in 2019.

8. Angela Kinsey (Angela Martin)

Apart from doing a podcast with Jenna Fischer, Kinsey occasionally appears in small roles in films and various shows. In addition, Angela closely works with the non-profit Alley Cat Allies, that is dedicated to taking care of stray cats. So you can say she’s the same as her The Office character in her overwhelming love for cats.

9. Brian Baumgartner (Kevin Malone)

Baumgartner can sometimes be seen in various episodic roles on TV, but hasn’t found anything permanent. From his social media it looks like he’s having fun with his hobbies, which include cooking and football. However, Brian is still capitalizing on his role from The Office and has recently launched merch that shows the iconic moment from the show when his character Kevin spilled his chili.

10. Kate Flannery (Meredith Palmer)

Perhaps the most exciting thing about Kate’s career after The Office was her participation on season 28 of the popular competition show Dancing with the Stars in 2019. Flannery had a good run on the show which she owes to her vast experience performing on Broadway.

11. Oscar Nuñez (Oscar Martinez)

Over the past 5 years, Nuñez was part of the main cast on shows like People of Earth and 3Below: Tales of Arcadia, but none of them fully took off. He continues to do guest appearances in movies and TV shows from time to time.

12. Leslie David Baker (Stanley Hudson)

Baker seems to be living it up and doing what he loves most. He often makes public appearances at conventions dedicated to The Office, because even though the show is over, the hype around it is anything but.

13. Paul Lieberstein (Toby Flenderson)

As one of the former head writers of The Office, Lieberstein is still actively working on screenplays. Most recently, he wrote, directed, and starred in the comedy film Song of Back and Neck (2018). Considering it was his first ever feature film, we might be looking at more projects from Paul very soon.

14. Ellie Kemper (Erin Hannon)

Ellie is one of the few cast members from The Office , who’s best known for a different role. In 2015, Kemper landed the main role in a sitcom developed by Tina Fey called Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. The show aired for 4 seasons and fans are currently expecting an interactive special, set to release in 2020. Ellie has also provided her voice for animated films like The Secret Life of Pets (2016) and The Lego Batman Movie (2017).

15. Rashida Jones (Karen Filippelli)

No one could ever forget Rashida’s appearance on The Office as Karen, Jim’s last girlfriend before finally getting together with Pam, but she’s more well-known for her role in Parks and Recreation. The 2 shows were developed by the same person, so it’s no wonder he found a permanent role for Jones. Currently, Rashida is focused on writing and even contributed to a story for Toy Story 4 (2019).

16. Ed Helms (Andy Bernard)

Helms is probably the favorite actor to play the role of an “ordinary” guy in Hollywood comedies. His most notable roles so far include The Hangover trilogy, Vacation (2015), and Tag (2018). Ed continues to enjoy a busy career and we can catch him in theaters in the 2020 comedy Coffee & Kareem.

17. Craig Robinson (Darryl Philbin)

Because he’s such a likable guy, Robinson didn’t fall off the map after the show reached its end. You might’ve seen him in other comedies like This Is the End (2013), Sausage Party (2016), Dolemite Is My Name (2019), and many others.

18. Zach Woods (Gabe Lewis)

Woods is keeping very busy with voice work and numerous TV and movie appearances. His latest big roles include the upcoming comedy Downhill (2020) alongside Will Ferrell and the sci-fi comedy series Avenue 5.

19. Melora Hardin (Jan Levinson)

The stunning Melora Hardin was also lucky enough to continue her television career and has quite a few important projects on her resume. She had a recurring role in the Golden Globe-winning show Transparent, as well as the drama A Million Little Things. Hardin is currently part of the main cast in the series The Bold Type.

20. Amy Ryan (Holly Flax)

Ryan has had a very successful run in the film industry ever since her appearance on The Office. She’s appeared in the Oscar-winning film Birdman (2014) and the Oscar-nominated Bridge of Spies (2015). In addition, she had a lovely reunion with Steve Carell in the drama Beautiful Boy (2018), in which they played ex-spouses. Amy can be seen in the 2020 films, What Is Life Worth and Lost Girls.
