Steve Irwin’s Grandchild’s Love for Wildlife Proves His Legacy Still Lives On

year ago

Steve Irwin, also known as ’The Crocodile Hunter,’ managed the Australia Zoo. He shared his love of wildlife with his wife, Terri, and their two children, Bindi and Robert. Sadly, Steve passed away in 2006, but his teachings and legacy continue on through his family. Bindi’s daughter is already sharing the love of wildlife.

Bright Side is in awe by the way Steve’s family continues to build on what he started and his love for all living creatures.

Bindi and Robert have had a love of wildlife from a young age.

Steve Irwin always shared his passion for wildlife with his family. His parents opened a reptile park in 1970, where he grew up around snakes and lizards. Steve had a natural affinity with reptiles and crocodiles. He lived on the zoo grounds with his family, where they also spent lots of time with all sorts of animals.

Robert Irwin is now a wildlife photographer and conservationist. He loves to teach people about the importance of the natural world. Not only does he look like a spitting image of his father, but also shares his favorite animal, crocodiles.

Bindi Irwin is a wildlife conservationist and still lives at Australia Zoo. She has met with royalty to discuss the Great Barrier Reef. Bindi continues her father’s work to protect wild animals.

Steve Irwin’s first granddaughter seems to love wildlife.

Bindi met wakeboarder, Chandler Powell, in 2013 at Australia Zoo. They got married in 2020 and welcomed their daughter, Grace Warrior, in 2021. Bindi shares her love of wildlife with her daughter, as Steve did with her.

Bindi wrote: “Meet Grace’s new best friend, Fergo, the cassowary chick. They absolutely love each other!”

Bindi introduced Grace to Occa, who was rescued 20 years ago by her father. She said, “These photographs brought me to tears.”

Grace’s first birthday was filled with lots of animals.

Uncle Robert shared pictures from Grace’s first birthday. They celebrated with their family and their Australia Zoo family. Bindi wrote, “One year of watching your beautiful heart bloom into the most extraordinary person. Grace, you have been an old soul from the very beginning. It is the greatest blessing to be your mama.”

Bindi wrote that Grace had been “watching her ‘Grandpa Crocodile’ on a projector on the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve.” She also said, “She lights up when she sees him on screen. I wish with all my heart that Dad could hug my beautiful girl. I hold on to the thought that he’s her guardian angel now, watching over the most special part of my life, Grace Warrior.”

Do you share any of the same loves as your family members?
