The story of a 13-year-old kid who kept getting in trouble for doodling in class is an inspiring tale of how creativity and passion can lead to unexpected opportunities. Meet Joe, a young boy with a vivid imagination and an insatiable urge to express himself through art.

Joe, a 13-year-old boy, is an exceptionally creative child who loves doodling and drawing. However, this passion often got him into trouble at school, as he frequently doodles in his notebooks during class instead of paying attention to his lessons.

Although some people see doodling as a distraction, Joe’s talent got him in unexpected places. With a successful Instagram account, he gathered fans from all around the world. And, to his surprise, a huge brand noticed him: Nike.

Impressed by his unique designs and youthful enthusiasm, they reached out to him to discuss a collaboration. Nike saw the potential in Joe’s talent and offered him a deal to design a limited-edition sneaker collection inspired by his artwork. According to Joe’s agency, this bond combines Joe’s talent and passion for sports, inspiring others to enjoy their passions and have fun.

Joe’s father, Gregory Whale, expressed Joe’s excitement about joining the Nike family, saying this deal is a dream come true for him.

But this isn’t the first time he saw a glimpse of success. Prior to the Nike deal, he held his debut solo exhibition at the Soden Collection, an art gallery located in his hometown of Shrewsbury, central England.

His artwork also received royal recognition when Prince William and Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, endorsed it. This happened after he created an illustration of their royal train tour in December 2020. In a Twitter post from their official account, they expressed their gratitude and encouraged him to “keep up the great work!”

On Joe’s official website, he mentions that he has been drawing and painting since the age of three, and art has always played a significant role in his life. His preferred subjects for drawing include food, monsters, and aliens, but his creativity knows no bounds.

His motto is “There is no right or wrong in Art just interpretation,” making him feel free whenever he takes his pen.
