At first, she didn’t think much of it: “I would hear that heart disease is the number one killer of women, but that went in one ear and out the other. But now I get it. And like most women I thought, ’I have too much to do. It will go away.’ I didn’t want to bother the cardiologist.”

In addition, Susan has always led a healthy lifestyle, so even her doctor doubted there was anything serious going on with her: “Even my cardiologist said that to look at me, you’d never think I was a heart patient.” But after some tests, they discovered a 90% blockage in the main artery of her heart, which required immediate surgery. The procedure went well, and Lucci carried on with her life.

Fast-forward to 2022, the actress once again started experiencing familiar unsettling symptoms. This time, the heart scan revealed 80% blockage, which prompted a second surgery.
