After a Failed Marriage, Jessica Simpson Finally Found Her One True Love

Jessica Simpson might be famous around the world for her music career and golden locks, but not everything has come easy for her. After one failed attempt at marriage, she has settled in with someone else and is no longer afraid to show her happiness.

Her debut in music and love

Jessica Simpson was a huge name in the music industry back in the ’00s. The third released single from her debut album, “I Think I’m in Love with You,” became an instant hit, selling over 2 million copies.

The success landed her on a tour, opening for the boyband, 98 Degrees. There, she met her first husband, Nick Lachey.

Simpson and Lachey announced their engagement in February 2002 and became an “it couple” in Hollywood. Embarking on their success, they launched a reality show called Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica based on their marriage.

The show quickly became a pop culture phenomenon thanks to Simpson’s portrayal of a “dumb blonde.” It endured a successful 3-season run on MTV until 2005.

But their love story came to an end.

Unfortunately, not everything was going well behind the scenes. In November 2005, the couple announced they were divorcing.

Simpson entered the dating world while at the peak of her music career. She dated singer John Mayer for a year, and after that, she began seeing the football player, Tony Romo. But her real other half was just around the corner.

Simpson finally found “the one.”

Simpson began dating a retired football player named Eric Johnson in May 2010, and the bond was so strong that they announced their engagement in November of that same year.

And the fruit of their love wasn’t far behind. In 2011, they welcomed their first child, followed by a second pregnancy in 2012. In 2019, their third daughter also joined the family.

They are still in love more than a decade later and don’t hide it. In a recent interview, Simpson declared, “Once I met Eric, I feel like it was more nurtured. Everything was more supported. Everything felt so easy.”

Simpson also mentioned that the secret to their successful marriage is that her husband supports and understands her career. “I have always thought that I was hard to love, that I was too much for people, or my schedule was too demanding,” she added.

It’s easy to say that Jessica Simpson is as happy as ever and glowing with bliss. But throughout her career, she has struggled not only with love but also with body-shaming. Luckily, she has found a way to shut down critics and love her body the way it is. “I’ve definitely embraced myself,” Simpson said.
