As the fierce Sarah Connor in The Terminator franchise, she became a symbol of strength and resilience. Yet, behind the scenes, Hamilton faced her own private torment. But with remarkable strength and determination, she overcame her personal struggles, and now she is about to make a comeback to the silver screen. Her story proves that true heroes can face their darkest moments and emerge stronger than ever.

Much like her character in The Terminator, Hamilton had to fight bravely in real life too but with a different enemy — a mental health condition that causes major and unexpected mood swings. To make matters worse, it went undiagnosed for decades, taking a toll on Hamilton’s career and private life.

She has been battling a hidden battle for decades.

After going through two divorces, Hamilton took a step back from the spotlight. Her first husband left the actress during her pregnancy with their son Dalton because he was no longer capable of dealing with her unpredictable behavior.

Hamilton even publicly apologized to her ex later, having recognized how severely her outbursts impacted the relationship:

“If I was suffering or angry with my husband over the smallest slight, he would suffer. There was no capacity to remove myself from my condition and think about other people in the room and how they might not want to have to be dragged into this,” the actress once said.

She hopes to help others with her experience.

Her second marriage was to the movie director James Cameron, with whom she shares a daughter, Josephine. Unfortunately, the couple split in 1999 after spending eight years together.

In 1994, Hamilton was finally diagnosed with bipolar disorder, giving her the chance to embark on a path to recovery. Ever since then, the 66-year-old actress has been trying to help others with the same condition by speaking publicly about it.

Hamilton is now ready for another comeback.

After unexpectedly appearing in 2019 Terminator: Dark Fate, she’s ready to make another major comeback. To her fans’ delight, she’ll be back on the silver screen very soon.

At a recent Netflix event, her dear co-star from The Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, introduced a video in which Hamilton shared delightful news — she’s going to star in season 5 of Stranger Things: “Good to see you, Arnold. Let’s get dinner soon,” Hamilton said in the video and announced that she is arriving to Hawkins soon.

A fan of the show herself, Hamilton also joked that she doesn’t know “how to be a fangirl and an actress at the same time,” but she promised she is “gonna work on that.”

Unexpected comebacks have a way of igniting our hearts with nostalgia and reminding us that sometimes absence truly makes the heart grow fonder. We eagerly anticipate Hamilton to grace our screens once again with her talent and charisma.
