Aww bless her, this must have been a terrifying and traumatic experience for her to deal with. And love her heart, she seems to have been very brave and courageous. I'm so happy for her that she's doing so well now and life has gotten more normal. I do wonder how much she has been affected psychologically by the attack and if she is able to have a relationship with any dogs. I hope that she'll be able to enjoy the cuddles of a sweet puppy again. I wish her the best in her healing journey.
This Model’s Recovery Journey After Getting Mauled by a Dog Is a Spectacular Example of Human Strength

We are all capable of incredible strength and resilience. Life may throw us curveballs, but we can rise above any challenge with determination and a positive attitude. Our spirit has the power to endure and overcome. So let’s remember to keep our heads held high and never underestimate our strength as we learn the inspiring journey of Brooklinn Khoury, who was mauled by a dog.
She thought he was a friendly pit bull.
Khoury was in the kitchen, petting her cousin’s 8-year-old blue nose pit bull named Diesel, whom she had previously met and considered well-behaved, when the dog suddenly attacked her. She tried to stay calm and went to the hospital right away. But despite their efforts, the surgeons could not fix her injured upper lip.
She shared her mental and physical recovery journey online.
She has been very open and transparent about her recovery journey, sharing her experiences, thoughts, and feelings with the public on Instagram. In one post, she wrote, “When I was attacked, it was so hard to see what the future held for me.” She explained how thankful she was for people who constantly reminded her to trust the process.
She breaks the perfection façade on Instagram.
She uses Instagram, a platform where many people tend to present a perfect image of themselves, to share her raw life as it is. As a skateboarder, she has always been open about both the good and bad aspects of her experiences, including showing falls and other setbacks.
She never allowed her injury to hold her back.
She refused to let her injury defeat her. Still undergoing surgeries, she celebrated her femininity. Visiting Sephora to try new lip glosses, Khoury shared her spontaneous joy with the world.
Her love story is also inspiring.
Chloé Lukasiak, an alumna of Dance Moms, is currently dating Khoury. The couple recently celebrated their one-year anniversary, and in a heartfelt message, Khoury gushed, “This year, because of you, has been, by far, the greatest year of my life.”
She is using her personal platform to help others.
She opened her Instagram account not just for her own journey, but also to help others. She invited whoever was facing adversity or difficulties to reach out to her. “If you are going through something physically or mentally or just need someone to talk to, I am here,” Khoury added.
