All eyes were on Tom Hanks as he was having a tense interaction at the red carpet premiere for his movie Asteroid City. And while this actor is known for his relaxed and welcoming personality, this moment proves that even A-listers can find themselves in awkward situations, and that is totally normal.

A tricky moment

Hanks was accompanied by his wife of 35 years Rita Wilson, and the couple looked so elegant while they attended the Cannes festival to promote their movie. But at one point during the event, Tom was seen engaged in what looked like a heated discussion with a staffer.

The 66-year-old Hollywood star seemed uncharacteristically annoyed and frustrated as he jabbed a finger at the young man. His wife, Rita, 66, who was standing next to him was holding her finger up in front of her as she spoke to the staff member who looked as if he was trying to calm the situation.

However, despite those attempts, Hanks still appeared to be annoyed as the trio continued to engage in dialogue before proceeding down the red carpet for the customary photos.

Everything was smoothly back on track.

Later on, the glamorous couple were seen to be back in high spirits as they smiled for the cameras before going inside for the screening of their movie.

The much-anticipated movie Asteroid City is a science fiction romantic comedy-drama which features an ensemble cast including Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton and Adrien Brody. Hank’s wife, Rita, has also a role in the film, playing an undisclosed character.

We admire how Tom and Rita have remained so much in love even after being married for 35 years. And the way Hanks defended his wife after she was body-shamed, made us respect this talented actor and great human even more.
