There are multiple ways to improve your eyelash growth: you can use essential oils, massage your eyelids, and give your lashes a break from makeup. But the easiest way to enhance them, is to diversify your everyday meals. All you need to do is to eat some healthy and delicious foods that will benefit, not only your lashes, but your whole body.

We at Bright Side have searched the internet to find out which tasty and easily accessible products will give your body the vitamins needed for long and healthy eyelashes.

1. Eggs

Why they work: Eggs are high in protein.

What they do: Hair and eyelashes are composed of keratin. Foods that are rich in protein help your body get the right amount of amino acids to produce keratin. It will make your eyelashes stronger and longer.

2. Salmon

Why it works: Salmon is a source of Omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D, and B vitamins.

What it does: Omega-3 fatty acids protect your lashes against breakage, and from becoming brittle and falling out. Vitamin D and B vitamins enhance eyelash growth.

3. Nuts

Why they work: Nuts provide your body with Omega-3 acids and vitamin E.

What they do: The fatty acids together with the vitamin E transport blood and oxygen to hair follicles. It increases blood flow and strengthens the hair follicles. It helps to keep your lashes in place for longer and encourages them to grow more quickly.

4. Fruits and vegetables

Why they work: Fruits and vegetables contain vitamins A and C.

What they do: These vitamins benefit eyelash growth and collagen production. The peel of fruits and vegetables contains silica, an essential mineral that helps your eyelashes become long and healthy.

5. Mushrooms

Why they work: Mushrooms are a valuable source of vitamin B3.

What they do: They improve your blood circulation and help in the production of keratin. Vitamin B3 stimulates eyelash growth and eliminates dry and brittle lashes. It helps in cellular reproduction and prevents your eyelashes from falling out.

6. Beans

Why they work: Beans contain vitamin H and folic acid.

What they do: Vitamin H increases blood flow to your hair follicles, makes your lashes look thicker, and prevents them from getting dry and falling out. It helps your body absorb amino acids and fats that are essential for healthy eyelashes. Folic acid prevents your lashes from becoming brittle.

7. Whole grains

Why they work: Whole grains are rich in vitamin B6 and iron.

What they do: Vitamin B6 stimulates the production of melanin — the pigment that gives your lashes their color. Iron is stored in hair follicles and prevents your eyelashes from becoming weak and falling out.

Are any of these foods already on your daily menu? What else do you do to keep your eyelashes long and healthy?
