How Human Perfection Looks Like According to Artificial Intelligence

AI researched what perfection looks like based on internet algorithms, and the results were highly delusional. On social media, it is common to see photos of individuals who appear to have flawless faces and bodies, frequently achieved through filters and editing tools to enhance their looks. It’s important not to forget that these unachievable ideals of body standards contribute to developing body dysmorphia and other mental problems.

The results came out to be eye lingering but largely unrealistic.

Artificial intelligence has created many representations of the “perfect” man and woman before, but the latest results were very unsettling. These AI photos were produced using algorithms that combed through billions of human images and engagement statistics on social media data.

However, The Bulimia Project, an organization that raises awareness of eating disorders, kept track of the results and warned that the body types depicted in the images are “largely unrealistic.”

It takes only a moment to see why the pictures can be so harmful and dangerous for anyone who isn’t a tanned white person. First off, both the men’s and women’s photographs show a preference for olive skin tones.

Additionally, the images of women tended to include blonde hair and brown eyes, while the images of males had brown hair and brown eyes. 53 percent of the photos included ladies with olive skin, while 37 percent of the AI-generated images of women had blonde hair.

Meanwhile, the ideal male figure was portrayed as being composed of large, strong bodybuilders with six-packs, extra-tight t-shirts, and muscles that look to have muscles.

Males with darker hair and medium-toned complexion were clearly preferred in 67 percent of the AI-generated photographs for males.

The Bulimia Project then requested AI to provide its opinion based on photographs from around the internet after utilizing AI to examine the images social media promotes as the perfect man and woman.

“Considering that social media uses algorithms based on which content gets the most lingering eyes, it’s easy to guess why AI’s renderings would come out more sexualized,” The Bulimia Project explained.

“But we can only assume that the reason AI came up with so many oddly shaped versions of the physiques it found on social media is that these platforms promote unrealistic body types, to begin with.”

Even though this is what the perception of perfect looks like in 2023, don’t be worried, perfection doesn’t exist. It also changes with time, new trends bring new perceptions of a perfect body. Also, many factors affect the idea of the perfect body shape, and one of them is the feeling of hunger.
