Isabella Rossellini, 70, Talks Aging “With Beauty” and Refusing Botox

At 70, Isabella Rossellini is the epitome of grace. The actress proves that women don’t have to go under the knife or reverse their signs of aging to remain desirable. Today, as one of the faces of Lancôme, Rossellini’s all-natural look and fine lines are being celebrated, and we can’t help but admire this icon’s philosophy on beauty.
Rossellini was once very close to getting work done.

Rossellini said, “I think the biggest dream for women is to grow old with beauty and dignity and elegance.” And this is precisely what she’s doing.
Yet the star admitted that when she was in her forties and fifties, the thought of getting plastic surgery did, in fact, cross her mind. She revealed how one day she woke up thinking, “We have all these new technologies in surgery. Why don’t I take advantage of it? I’m going to call a plastic surgeon.” However, as she recalls, as she was contacting the surgeon, she “ran out of courage.”
She believes she’s now ’’too old’’ for plastic surgery.
And when asked if she would consider getting some work done now, Rossellini noted, “I’m too old. I’m not going to do plastic surgery at 70; my skin will not sustain it.”
The 70-year-old, who runs a farm home to chickens, dogs, bees, and sheep, further explained that fillers or other procedures would not align with her principles. “I always say, jokingly, because I run an organic farm and try to eat healthy, that I can’t reconcile eating organically and having Botox,” she explained. “How do you reconcile the 2?”
Even though she believes it’s not for her, Rossellini isn’t opposed to the idea of plastic surgery, in general, and supports other people who decide to go under the knife. She noted, “I have many friends and relatives who have done plastic surgery, and I’m not against it.”
She’s a graceful beauty icon.
The star admits that at some point, she grew afraid that she wouldn’t be working again if she didn’t get any plastic surgery done.
However, choosing to age naturally was actually in her favor. She was hired back to become one of the faces of Lancôme after having been an icon of theirs in her younger years.
And the fact that she has embraced her aging signs has made Rossellini a model for many women worldwide. She revealed, “A lot of people send emails and comments saying they feel represented by me.” Rossellini went on to explain that the photos for the brand are ’’all about cosmetics and looking your best,’’ and people are ’’very appreciative that a 70-year-old woman is doing it’’ and looking true to her age.

Rossellini concluded, ’’I think I was right not to do [plastic surgery],’’ and we also agree that she looks fabulous, and we admire her for her decision to age naturally.
Rossellini, Jamie Lee Curtis, Julianne Moore, and Salma Hayek are among many other celebrities who said no to going under the knife. Other stars have opened up about having some work done and have zero regrets about it. You can read more about it in this article.
