The 65-year-old Footloose actor and his 58-year-old wife, actress Kyra, tied the knot back in 1988. Since then, the couple has only grown strong, and they’ve created a beautiful, happy family together. Kevin and Kyra often share videos of themselves serenading songs while surrounded by their pet goats, giving everyone major relationship goals. Their secret to a lasting marriage? We’ve got the scoop in the article.

It was love at first sight.

The story of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick’s love affair began on the set of Lemon Sky in 1987, leading to their engagement by the end of the year. Bacon vividly recalls his immediate admiration for Sedgwick, while Sedgwick experienced an instant sense of comfort with her future husband, a feeling she describes as being “at home.”

The couple is going strong for 35 years.

Taking to his Instagram to share a throwback photo of young Kyra lovingly sitting on his lap, Kevin wrote, “35 years feels like a heartbeat.”

Kyra also joined in and posted a photo celebrating their anniversary. “It was 1987- on the set of ‘Lemon Sky’ — I met a man named Kevin. Happy 35 my love,” she captioned a photo of them from the set.

They both have different views on what makes the marriage work.

According to Kyra, it is Kevin’s sense of humor that has kept the spark alive all these years. “A sense of humor is crucial. He is very freaking funny,” she admitted.

On the other hand, Kevin poked fun when he was asked about their secret, “No secret. Never have the secret. The secret is don’t ask a celebrity on how to stay married.”

They have two children together.

Kevin and Kyra share a son, Travis, and a daughter, Sosie. Having children brought them closer, believes the couple.

“I’m constantly amazed that we are still surprised and interested in each other. When I look back at our first four years...by that time we’d had our second kid, and I look back at those pictures and I think, ‘Gosh, I didn’t know him at all!’ I loved him, but I didn’t know him, and he probably didn’t know me.”

According to her, with time, their bond became deeper. “But you grow together and learn more about each other. I think the trust gets deeper, and the dependency gets deeper...he is the person I count on to live and walk through life with. It’s a dependency that is there and large and real and profound.”

The couple lives on a farm now and spends their days caring for their farm animals and just enjoying each other’s company.
