Nicole Kidman is proving that a woman can be in her fifties and still wear what she wants. The 56-year-old had to defend her Vanity Fair cover after it went viral because of her outfit. Kidman had some powerful words to share that won’t leave anyone indifferent.

The star is firmly standing by her decision to wear a Miu Miu micro miniskirt as she graced the front page of Vanity Fair’s 2022 Hollywood Issue.

Kidman explained that she’s the one who insisted on wearing that particular skirt, saying, ’’It was fun. I own it. I take responsibility. Nobody else chose it.’’

She doesn’t allow the trolls to get to her.

The low-rise skirt was harshly criticized online, after people deemed it was too short. However, the actress explains that she doesn’t pay much attention to these critics and prefers to ignore them. She noted, ’’Don’t tell me, I don’t really want to know. It will stop me doing what I want to do.’’

The Moulin Rouge star went on explaining that she chooses ’’to stay free’’ in the choices she makes, explaining that if you give too much importance to what others have to say, you become ’’just closed off, and you can’t step anywhere.’’

She’s a free spirit.

This very same daring outfit was also worn by younger stars such as Zendaya, Hailey Bieber, and Emma Corrin.

And at 56, Kidman acknowledges that some of her fashion might not be conventional for her age. She explained, ’’I make the most random, crazy choices. I call them ‘teenage choices’ because I just don’t ever think of consequences.’’
