Honestly, I don't know why bullying on the Internet is such a big deal. Yes, bullying in public, schools, etc. is not good at all and should be prevented. But the Internet? You can just block rude users, no?

REALLY? What world do you live in??? YES, online bullies can be blocked by the victims but they can't block the bullies from posting on their own pages (no one ever accuses the bullies of being the most intelligent people) but they can create an absolute living nightmare for the victims through a terrifying and incalculable number of ways. I hope that you realize that the internet is the "WORLD WIDE WEB" and before you try to brush that off by saying that not that many people would notice, pay attention, care, etc. The ONLY person that really matters to is the victim. Oops... just to even think about the potential number of people and in absolutely EVERY SINGLE PART OF THEIR LIFE -- I am starting to shake at the kinds of things that could go through their mind, how painful, embarrassing, depressing, horrifying, paralyzing, thoughts of never wanting to be seen or face anyone who is going to believe, agree, join in with, etc. Whether it's real or perceived to potentially be real is irrelevant -- THE DAMAGE IS DONE in the victims eyes and something as "simple" as a few mean words can have such a grave and IMMEDIATE effect on the VICTIM.
Try thinking of someone other than yourself, try to put yourself in someone else's shoes...
