15 People Who Got a House Full of Surprises

Curiosities

In order to find a secret room, an old safe, or family jewels, you don’t have to live in an old mansion. Modern houses can hide a lot of secrets too, for example, behind the wallpaper, or electrical sockets, in the backyard, and even on the balcony.

At Bright Side, we love to read about different unexpected things discovered in houses and apartments. And today’s article is exactly about them.

“I just moved into my new house. And this is not a deep-pit BBQ. It’s an old bomb shelter.”

“My friend cut a hole in his house because they found a drain pipe on the other side and wanted to know where it went. This is what they found.”

“I just bought a building with an old wall safe. The key goes in but will not turn.”

“We have a collection of 80-year-old photos of our house. One of the images was of a vanity that I assumed was lost in a remodel.”

“We were surprised when we opened a wall during a bathroom restoration and found it mostly intact. We added it to our plans.”

“We found garage keys in the apartment of our late grandfather. We eventually found the garage. And this is what we found inside.”

“This is VAZ-21011 released in 1979, in excellent condition. We posted an ad, and 2 weeks later the car was bought for a museum for a respectable sum.”

“We found this silver bar in my buddy’s newly purchased house.”

“I moved to my parents’ empty apartment. When I was moving furniture, I found a stash of $1,000. I returned it to my parents.”

“We found treasure in our bathroom. Right in the cabinet above the sink.”

“I found this guy in my new house.”

“I thought it was a piece of painted-over tape stuck to a bookshelf. I peeled it up to find it was concealing a mystery.”

“My friend moved into a new house. This was left by the previous owners.”

“A friend of mine found this house with a small termite problem.”

“When we rented our apartment, we noticed that neighbors had nuts laid out on their balcony. Soon, we found out for whom.”

“Today was our turn. We gave it some nuts. Our guest let us take a picture of it and gracefully jumped away to the neighboring balcony.”

“I found a creepy room in the attic. Metal grate on inside and outside of the door. Ceiling at its highest is a little over 4 feet.”

“I thought my house was built by humans until I found this.”
