What the Actors From “Enchanted” Look Like 15 Years After Its Premiere

Enchanted was released in 2007. It’s a brilliant comedy about the adventures of a fairy tale princess suddenly compelled to live a modern city lifestyle. Since it premiered, the charisma of the characters and the novelty of the story captured an audience that has been waiting for the sequel all this time.

Bright Side wants to show you what the main actors of the movie look like 15 years after its release.

1. Amy Adams — Giselle

Amy Adams was chosen out of 300 actresses who auditioned for the role of Giselle. This role was a great boost to her career that she landed thanks to her beautiful face and her music skills. She even got a Golden Globe nomination for her performance.

Since then, she has had great roles in other films; in 2019, she was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in Vice, totaling 6 nominations in her career. In 2022, she will star in the sequel to Enchanted with members of the original cast.

2. Patrick Dempsey — Robert Philip

Patrick Dempsey started his career in acting when he was still very young. He appeared in both TV series and movies. When he starred in Enchanted, he was already considered one of the greatest leading men in Hollywood. Since then, he hasn’t stopped acting. His most popular role was Dr. Derek Shepherd in Grey’s Anatomy, which he played for 16 years in 261 episodes.

He will also return as Robert in the sequel to Enchanted in 2022.

3. James Marsden — Príncipe Edward

James Marsden started his acting career at a very young age and thanks to this friend, actor Kirk Cameron. In 2006, after taking part in several films as supporting cast, he appeared in blockbuster Superman Returns, which opened the doors for him to have a more important role in the remake of the musical Hairspray. That same year, he got cast and appeared in Enchanted.

Since then, he has had an upward career; in 2020 and 2022 he starred in the films based on Sonic, the video game character. In 2022, he will return as Prince Edward in the sequel to Enchanted.

4. Timothy Spall — Nathaniel

Timothy Spall is an English actor who has won multiple awards in his native United Kingdom. In the late 1990s, he fought a battle against leukemia that forced him to take a break from acting for a couple of years. He then came back and, in Enchanted, played the role of Queen Narissa’s faithful lackey, who sought out Giselle in our world to deliver her into her evil hands.

In 2022, he will release The Pale Blue Eye, where he worked with Christian Bale, and Bolan’s Shoes, a movie revolving around the life of musician Marc Bolan.

5. Idina Menzel — Nancy Tremaine

Idina Menzel rose to fame as one of Broadway’s most popular actresses for her role as Elphaba in the multi-award winning play Wicked and the musical Rent. After Enchanted, where she plays the role of Robert’s formal girlfriend, Idina continued to appear in musicals and movies. In 2013, she voiced Elsa for the movie Frozen, a role for which earned her a Grammy.

We will see her back in the sequel to Enchanted as Giselle’s rival.

6. Susan Sarandon — Queen Narissa

Susan Sarandon is a renowned actress who already has 162 appearance in films and TV series. She also won an Oscar in 1997 for her role in Dead Man Walking. In Enchanted, she plays the main villain, the classic evil queen of fairy tales who does everything to get rid of Giselle.

With such a prolific career, Susan Sarandon has not stopped acting and now has a biopic and a comedy in pre-production.

7. Isiah Whitlock Jr. — Ethan Banks

Isiah Whithlock Jr. has appeared in 122 films and TV series. Although most of them are small roles, he has always been praised by critics and audiences alike. In 2020, he was one of the leads in Spike Lee’s 5 Bloods. People remember him for playing a client of Robert’s law firm, who gets into trouble when Giselle intervenes in his divorce suit.

In 2022, we will hear him in a role in the animated Lightyear film about the origin story of Toy Story character Buzz.

8. Tonya Pinkins — Phoebe Banks

Tonya Pinkins is an accomplished theater actress turned film producer and director. In 2021, she made her directorial debut in Red Pill and is already planning her second film, The Zombie Wedding. In Enchanted, she was Ethan’s wife, and thanks to Giselle’s intervention, she comes to her senses about her divorce and gives herself a second chance.

9. Tibor Feldman — Henry

Tibor Feldman has had several performances in film and TV series, including Law & Order, Blue Bloods, Orange is the New Black, among other productions. He is still very active in acting; in 2022, he will release Good Egg, an independent film about in vitro fertilization.

In Enchanted, he was Robert’s rival lawyer, who also questions his professionalism, which is affected by the sudden arrival of Giselle.

10. Marilyn Sue Perry — Bus driver

Marilyn Sue Perry has a short but iconic role in Enchanted: she’s the bus driver who’s attacked when Prince Edward arrives. She’s still acting, but often in supporting roles for TV shows. We last saw her in 2020 in the series Good Girls.

Bonus: A few winks to Disney classics

Giselle is barefoot when she first meets Prince Edward as a tribute to Aurora, who was also barefoot when she met Prince Philip in Sleeping Beauty.

The restaurant where Edward and Giselle dine is called Bella Note. It is the name of the song that is sung when the Lady and the Tramp eat spaghetti in the classic scene of their movie.

The apple they are given when they are walking in Central Park has a face drawn on it, similar to the apple the Wicked Witch gives Snow White in her 1937 movie.
