I think she's such a beautiful young woman and I enjoy watching her on TV and movies. I had noticed a slight weight gain but really thought nothing of it because it wasn't that much and it's not something that I'd ever judge anyone else for. I hate the way that anyone is targeted for changes they go through because you never know what's going on in their lives. I'm very glad that she's able to take care of herself and treat condition. Lupus can be a very nasty illness that can wreck havoc on your body and emotions. The medications that we have to take for chronic health issues are also pretty harsh to the body and emotions over time as well. I just hope that she continues to be supported by her loved ones and receive the care she needs to feel productive, healthy, and happy. Sending thoughts of strength, courage, and gentle hugs.
Selena Gomez Reveals Why She’s Gaining Weight, and Sends a Message to Her Body Shamers
Selena Gomez is celebrating body positivity and loving her shape in all sizes. The star recently had a candid discussion with her fans on TikTok and explained how her health condition is affecting her body. We believe that Selena is fabulous and the way she is spreading acceptance and self-love is making us admire her even more.
After getting a lot of comments about her body, the 30-year-old made a live stream and explained that her lupus medication causes a lot of weight fluctuations.
Selena, who was diagnosed with lupus back in 2015, shared that when she takes her medication, she tends to “hold a lot of water weight, and that happens very normally.” She then added, “When I’m off of it, I tend to kind of lose weight.”
The singer and actress explained the reason why she’s opening up about her situation, saying, “I just wanted to encourage anyone out there who feels any sort of shame for exactly what they’re going through and no one knows the real story.”
She continued to spread positivity to her fans by noting, “I just want people to know that you’re beautiful, and you’re wonderful.” Gomez went on to admit that we all have days where we feel very down and low, and that is totally normal.
But she insists that our health should always be a priority. She shared, “I would much rather be healthy and take care of myself. My medications are important, and I believe that they’re what helps me.”
The star then continued discussing her experience with body image and admitted, “Not a model, never will be.” She made sure to add that she believes models are “awesome,” but she is just not a model and doesn’t expect herself to look like one.
Gomez concluded the video with a kind message to her fans, saying, “I love you guys, and thanks for supporting me and understanding.” She added, “And if not, go away, ’cause honestly I don’t believe in shaming people for their bodies or anything.”
