My Son Was Taken From Me 48 Years Ago, but Today I Finally Saw Him Standing Before Me

Every year, countless individuals are separated from their loved ones through adoption, creating stories of longing and hope. One such remarkable tale unfolded in the life of Thuy-Nga Thi Nibblett, whose path led her to give up her son at a tender age. However, destiny had something extraordinary in store for them.

She was merely seventeen years old when she got pregnant with her son.

Thuy-Nga Thi Nibblet developed romantic feelings for an American soldier. Even though she became pregnant at the age of 17, she strongly desired to raise her child. However, her father refused to accept his grandson. Consequently, after Thuy-Nga Thi gave birth, her father took the baby to an orphanage, revealing only that the child was a boy.

After giving birth to her son, Thuy-Nga Thi Nibblett never had the opportunity to see him again.

When her son was born, Thuy-Nga Thi Nibblett had already lost touch with the baby’s father and had to continue with her life, despite the pain of losing both her child and her first love.

Meanwhile, Kirk, her son, was adopted by an American family and was raised with the belief that he had been placed in an orphanage due to the passing of his biological parents.

As he grew older he felt like he wanted to know more about his birth family, but did not conduct any family research for years.

A couple of weeks after Kirk had submitted his DNA, he received an email asking him to contact a specific phone number.

The voice that greeted him on the other end of the line sent a shiver down his spine. When she picked up the phone, she said: “I think you’re my son.”

The moment finally came.

The information they exchanged aligned with the limited details they knew about each other, leading them to engage in lengthy conversations that concluded with plans to meet in person.

As luck would have it, Thuy-Nga Thi had moved to the United States and was residing in San Antonio, Texas, while Kirk was living in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Although they were separated by a distance of 1,500 miles, they were at least in the same country.

Thuy-Nga Thi made the long drive with her husband and her first meeting with her son was an emotional one.

After 48 years of being away from each other, the two made quick work in reuniting.

Luckily, their first meeting was recorded on camera, and you can watch the moment when Thuy-Nga Thi is finally reunited with the baby she had to give away 48 years ago.

As they both cry tears of joy, you can’t help but feel the immense happiness radiating from this mother-and-son reunion. “It’s almost like living a dream,” Kirk said after meeting his mom for the first time.

The mom, filled with emotions and extreme happiness, had the opportunity to meet her son’s wife and grandchildren. Her heart is now complete, and she expressed gratitude for granting her.

No matter how loving the adoptive family is, some adopted children still have the desire to meet their biological parents someday. Another great example of ambition is Rachel Ruiz, who has been searching for her birth mother for 10 years.
