As Jamie Lee Curtis Gracefully Turns 64, Here Are 5 Reasons Why She’s So Radiant While Being 100% Natural

Jamie Lee Curtis’s views on aging are refreshing and liberating, to say the least. The actress, who has just turned 64, has been through many phases in her life and has tried to pursue the unattainable ideals of beauty. However, her past experiences have taught her that embracing her natural self is what life is all about. And today, she embodies grace and confidence, proving that being comfortable in your own skin will result in a way more powerful glow than any cosmetic procedures combined.

She is fully against plastic surgery.

Jamie Lee admitted to having had a number of cosmetic procedures in the past, but she has become totally against it ever since. The actress, who has 2 daughters, ages 35 and 26, revealed that her advice for them is ’’Don’t mess with your face."

She explained, ’’I put Botox in my head. Does Botox make the big wrinkle go away? Yes. But then you look like a plastic figurine."

She counterbalances pain with kindness.

Curtis doesn’t consider happiness to be her utmost life goal. In fact, she acknowledges, ’’Happiness is a tricky word because life is pain." Instead, she advises her 2 daughters to do something that contributes to the ’’human race.’’ She explained, “I want them to be satisfied. I want them to feel that what they’re doing matters, that what they’re doing has value.”

Moreover, the star believes that kindness balances the pain we’re getting from living in ’’an increasingly negative world.’’

She is “pro-aging.”

Curtis noted, “This word ’anti-aging’ has to be struck.” Instead of hiding from her age or trying to erase and reverse its marks, the actress embraces it with open arms. She declared, “I am pro-aging. I want to age with intelligence, and grace, and dignity, and verve, and energy.”

Moreover, the star is an advocate of “natural beauty,” a term that she believes society has forgone. Therefore, she often shares sincere and unfiltered images of herself on her social media, reminding us that flaunting our natural features and imperfections makes us human and real. She once wrote, “Often, the most unflattering image, we are often looking down, to remind us of our humility, humanity, and lack of hubris in this filtered world we all exist in on this platform.”

She keeps it simple.

Curtis’s glowing face and svelte body are not the results of a high-maintenance self-care routine or expensive products. Instead, she credits budget-friendly drugstore creams for her youthful looks, water, and sleep. In fact, her entire skin care regimen costs less than $10.

And when it comes to staying in good shape, Curtis’s routine is effective without being complicated or demanding. In fact, the actress reveals that she does yoga, pilates, and really loves to take long walks with her friends, a type of social exercise that she explains is “incredibly good for you.”

She is more liberated than ever.

Society plants certain beauty ideals in our heads, and we usually follow them from a very young age. Curtis admitted, “I’ve been sucking my stomach in since I was 11, when you start being conscious of boys and bodies, and the jeans are super tight.”

However, the actress has realized that hiding yourself can negatively impact our mental health, productivity, and creativity. And now, in her sixth decade, Curtis is determined to free herself and get rid of those beauty norms. She confessed, “I very specifically decided to relinquish and release every muscle I had that I used to clench to hide the reality. That was my goal. I have never felt freer creatively and physically.”

Do you agree with Jamie Lee Curtis’s views on aging? Do you have any rules that you stick by when it comes to aging with grace?
