Elon Musk has recently shared details about his relationship with his 19-year-old daughter in his upcoming biography. According to an excerpt, at 16, Vivian texted the wife of Musk’s brother, revealing, “Hey, I’m transgender, and my name is now Jenna. Don’t tell my dad.”

In June 2020, the court approved Vivian’s request to legally change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson. During this process, she decided to adopt her mother, Justine Musk’s, maiden name. The court also recognized her gender as female and ordered the issuance of a new birth certificate to reflect these changes.

Vivian’s statement, expressing her desire to no longer be associated with her father, Elon Musk, suggests that there may be ongoing personal and familial complexities within their relationship.

“I’ve made many overtures,” Musk said, “but she doesn’t want to spend time with me.” Elon had acknowledged that his relationship with his daughter had changed. However, he emphasized having “very good relationships with all the others.” This suggests that despite challenges, he maintains positive connections with his other children.

On Father’s Day, about a month after his daughter’s petition, Elon Musk wrote “I love all my kids so much” in a social media message. This public statement underscores his affection for his children and his willingness to openly share his feelings.
