Ditching Boring Offices, a Boss Decided to Build Tiny Homes for Each of His Employees

year ago

Although working from home is becoming more and more popular nowadays, only 16% of companies are fully remote. So for many businesses, it’s still very important that their employees have comfortable offices where they can be productive during the work day. One creative boss went a step further, offering tiny houses instead of cubicles for all his employees.

A woman went viral on TikTok after sharing the unusual office she has.

TikTok user ItsKylie94 posted a series of videos showcasing the “tiny home offices” constructed by her employer for their staff, which quickly gained immense popularity on the platform. Her first video has received close to 40 million views and tens of thousands of comments from viewers worldwide.

While many people were amazed by the ingenuity of Kylie’s boss, some also had questions, and a few of them left negative reactions.

Kylie works for a property management company, and her boss decided to put a creative twist on the workspace.

After her first TikTok went viral, Kylie followed up with several others, including an office tour and some explanations. Although she received some negative comments about her videos, Kylie explained that she loves her job, saying that the place she is employed at “is probably the most generous company that I’ve ever worked for in my entire life.”

Some of the commenters thought that the tiny home setup was a waste of resources. Kylie further clarified that she enjoys a great work-life balance at her job and also loves the homey feeling of the office building.

Each employee has their own tiny home that matches their personality.

The tiny homes the employees work in aren’t just designed randomly, but rather, they were built to match each person’s taste and character. People are also encouraged to decorate their own tiny home office however they’d like.

One of the tiny houses looks like a pink castle, and Kylie explained that this is where the boss’s wife works. Some of the other houses have different aesthetics and colors.

The office building also hosts a “barn,” which is where the restrooms are located. Fully equipped with a communal kitchen, a yard with hammocks, benches, and other places to relax in, it looks like this boss makes sure that his employees feel at home even when they’re at the workplace.
