20 Times We Witnessed Mother Nature’s Will to Live

Curiosities

It’s estimated that planet Earth is around 4.5 billion years old. From the beginning, nature has endured meteors, ice ages, raging volcanic eruptions... and it’s still here, and still doing well. In its urge to live, nature never ceases to amaze (and occasionally intrigue) us.

We at Bright Side gathered a few examples showing how nature, in order to survive, can do things we wouldn’t believe were possible — until we saw them with our own eyes.

1. This “rebel” sunflower decided to bloom away from the others — in the middle of the sidewalk.

2. Out of a dead branch, nature gave life to triplets.

3. If anyone ever threw a coin at this well and wished for a tree, we have great news...

4. We’ve heard of eco-friendly vehicles before, but this one went a little too far.

5. “These dead leaves still haven’t fallen off these trees and it’s already late winter.”

6. This tree grew out of a rock — and split it in half.

7. “Abandoned roller coaster taken over by nature”

8. This tiny tree grew taller with a little help from a friend.

9. Nature gave this old house a brand new rooftop.

10. For this tomato plant, this crack in the floor felt like the perfect spot to bloom.

11. “I saw a completely hollow, burnt-out tree that is somehow still alive.”

12. “This is what happens when you leave a bag of grass seed out.”

13. To grow in this “concrete jungle,” these roots had to improvise.

14. “The bush from outside grew through my window frame.”

15. This tree got hit pretty hard — but it’s somehow still standing!

16. We’ve seen living fences, but it looks like we have living walls too.

17. This competitive tree ’climbed’ the gate, just to grow taller than the walls (and it worked).

18. Nature, we’ve learned, is a truly unstoppable force.

19. Nature overcomes all the odds, because it’s used to “living on the edge.”

20. As the saying goes: “Nothing is born, nothing dies.” After all, this is nature we’re talking about.
